Oil and gas industry operators want to ensure that their plant will operate as intended. To optimise facilities lifetime costs, problems must be identified and eliminated from the beginning which means that facilities should be built according to proven industry standards and meet given requirements for operational, safety and environmental performance. SGS’ technical advisory services cover a variety of safety issues related to conceptual design, material selection, risk and reliability assessment, environmental pollution prevention as well as damage and repair assessment. SGS conducts third party analysis services to evaluate new design concepts, proposed additions, repairs and damage conditions for various disciplines such as Steel Structures, Topsides, Plant Facilities, Pipelines, Tank Farms, Lifting Equipment, and High Pressure Installations. All activities will be performed to ensure that installations meet required technology standards with regards to material selection, design and safety level. Execution of services will be done in accordance with SGS’ Internal “Quality Insurance Instructions” which give detailed advice on the design appraisal activities. Additionally, SGS provides support services related to mechanical, piping, and electrical systems design such as mechanical and process design review, fire and safety systems analysis, or instrumentation and automation analysis and review.
